Today I am linking up with Ms. Katie J at Katie J Weighing In for:
Go check it out and meet other bloggers!!So, Baby Girl woke up this morning and started complaining about a sore throat- now she has NEVER complained of a sore throat - she is the type of kid that will play play play even while sick - Ive taken her to the Dr before with double ear infections and she never once complained of ear pain, so when she complained this morning of throat pain, I knew something was up. So, I called the hospital appointment line - how we make Dr's appointments on our post...and they told me that she could not get an appointment just for throat pain, we would have to do a "walk in" - seriously? So peeved, and not to mention the phone lady was a total bish...so we make our way to the hospital to "walk in" to the Dr - the front desk dude told me that I needed an appointment if I wanted her ears checked, um hello - of course I want her ears checked! So, after getting fresh with the desk dude and telling him about my horrendous customer service experience this morning, he was able to give me an appointment for two hours from the time we walked in. Instead of being upset, I decided to go to the grocery store to get food for my prep Im doing tonight (I usually do my prep on Sundays, but yesterday I was just too lazy- read, hungover) - So, we go to the store and come back for our appointment and after a strep test, we find out she has strep - I feel like the worst mommy in the world - she has been sniffling all weekend but I chalked it up to this other bish in my life - Mother Nature - who cant make her mind up about whether it's winter or spring...so I opted for the baby to get a shot in the butt and man alive, I felt even worse - Amelia was not a fan! Poor baby girl - so I called my husband on my way home and he was able to take the rest of the day off so I could come into work - and I know she is being spoiled rotten by him - so that makes me feel a little better, poor thing. Did I mention we just got over pink eye? Gotta love daycare :/
So, I have definitely been MIA for a few days in blogland...last week, specifically last Thursday and Friday were two of the hardest work days I have had in a long time, if ever. My plant was getting ready for a shut down that happened Sunday at midnight and I was in charge of preparing all the contractor paperwork - it was tedious and took forever. Not to mention, I also had papers due on Wed and Thur nights - so blogging went on the back burner. I am still doing great with tracking food and working out - although that bish I mentioned above, Mother Nature, yeah she is about to make her monthly arrival and I was up 2 lbs this morning, my husband was standing next to me when I weighed in and I was like "WHAT THE EFF?" and he chucked and said, um babe, remember - youre putting on water weight because youre about to start....ugh of course I remember but it still pisses me off. I also am doing really well with working out, I only missed one day last week - Friday - and it was an elliptical day...I just wanted my family at that point...I ran on Saturday morning after Amelia and I had Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. I ran the furthest I have ran without stopping to walk - .78 of a mile - so proud of myself - I ended up doing 1.47 miles and only walked for .2 of that distance - hell to the yeah - I plan on running again tomorrow outside and seeing how far I can go - we have the 5K this weekend and I am determined to run the whole thing, even if it's at a 14/mile - ha - here are some pics:
Isnt she a doll? Love her!
What I was prob the most excited about was running at a 5.8 pace - that's faster than I do on the treadmill! Heck yeah! I have decided to be super crazy and run a half marathon. Starting on April 1, I am training with Hal Higdon's NOVICE 1 program for an 8K - then on May 30, I am starting to train his Novice 1 program for a half marathon, which I will run on Aug. 17...the countdown begins :/ I have been bitten by the running bug and I am so excited/scared!
In other news, I have had some pretty serious Non-Scale Victories this past week/weekend: I gave baby girl a cheese snack without having any:
The picture on the right is the first letter she has drawn - an A naturally :) So proud!!
I also declined to put cheese on my naked burrito last night, or sour cream for that matter - so proud of myself - the healthy choices are getting easier and easier, I also discovered this weekend that I cant eat super rich food anymore...puts me in the bathroom (TMI?) - my body is just adjusted to healthy living and I want to keep it that way :)
OK, I think you all are caught up - I promise I wont disappear again :) And I am on spring break this week so, I have a tiny break from the madness of grad school - but I think Im going to read anyways just to stay caught up :)
Here is one more pic of Amelia playing on her leapfrog while mommy wrote her paper:
I love that she keeps me company :)
Ok, I will see you all tomorrow!!
