Day 79 - Holiday Post

Good Afternoon everyone :) Get ready for a photo bomb :)  How was every one's Christmas?  Mine was great!  I was able to go home and visit my Mom, Grandparents and In-laws.  We made it down to the South on the 23rd.  On Christmas Eve we made a Gingerbread house, went to Church (where baby girl fell asleep on my lap during "What Child is This" - made me cry a little :) - all-time favorite Christmas song), and then we went out to dinner and had fabulous Chinese food:
So cute, I can hardly stand it :) My little sweet angel on Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve tradition - Reading the Night Before Christmas and wearing matching jammies!
On Christmas Day, we woke up and opened our stockings and presents:

Sweet Maddy, checking out the action
After presents were opened, we gussied ourselves up and headed over to my Grandparents Assisted/Independent Living Complex for Christmas Brunch:

Christmas was great, It was wonderful to see family and share memories.  I gave my Mom a half-filled photo album for Christmas and I know that she will be adding more photos to the album from this Christmas.  Dont get me wrong, it was not all rainbows and butterflies and we all had our fair share of temper tantrums/too much time together tantrums.  But all in all, I think it was a success :)

On our way home, my darling husband decided he had to stop by IKEA on the way out of Atlanta.  Now, this was already turning into a late day, my Mom's house is about 5 hours away from where we live and we had lunch with her at one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, then he needed to stop by his Dad's to fix a military vest for him (yes my Mom and In-laws are in the same city - I told G that I would leave him if we ever lived in said city - way too many people telling you how to parent/live your life) - so by the time we left his Dad's, it was pushing 5-ish...then we go to IKEA - now this place is incredible, I had never been - I wish I could have spent a whole day there, but alas, we needed to get home.  But, we could not leave the mecca of all furniture stores without a purchase - we bought a bed frame and few bedroom items for A's room :) - Now, imagine this - we looked like the Griswolds - my husband's Dodge Stratus was the car we drove in and we did not want to ship the item - so we used the complimentary twine to put that baby up on the roof.  About 30 miles outside of the city we made our first stop - in 30 degree weather - to check on the bed frame - it was so bad that one of the drivers that had been driving with us out of the city told us it was flapping in the wind - oye - so we (and by we I mean my husband) came up with a solution and tied down just the foot board, putting the rest in the car and we made it home - at 2:00 AM - but home :) And here is the beauty:
I love it!
A's new room decorations - IKEA is the bomb-diggity
Wearing her new night shirt, which she waited until it was out of the dryer to wear :)

All in all, a successful Holiday trip, I am blessed to have my Mom welcome us into her home as well as make it the kind of Christmas for my daughter that she will forever remember - but man I am ready to get back to the regular scheduled programming :)  I have to work this weekend, again :( Which means I will be posting tomorrow :) See you chickens then!
